Troubleshooting Magic Links

Sonar Seed uses a passwordless login system called Magic Links. While this is incredibly frictionless, environmental factors can sometimes cause friction.

How it Works

When an ambassador enters their email (or you send an invitation), we email them a unique, one-time-use link. Clicking this link creates a secure session on their device.

Common Issues & Solutions

1. "Link Expired"

  • Cause: Standard magic links (requested from the login page) expire after 15 minutes. Invitation links expire after 7 days.
  • Solution: The ambassador should simply request a new link from the portal login page. Ensure they click the most recent email in their inbox.

2. "I didn't receive the email"

  • Cause: Spam filters or incorrect email addresses.
  • Solution:
    • Ask them to check their Spam/Promotions folder.
    • Verify their email address in your Ambassadors tab. If there is a typo, edit their profile and resend the invite.

3. "The link takes me back to the login page"

  • Cause: Browser cookie blocking or clicking the link on a different device than the one that requested it (though we support cross-device, some aggressive security apps block this).
  • Solution:
    • Ensure they are opening the link in the same browser app where they requested it.
    • Disable "Incognito/Private" mode if they are using it.
    • Clear browser cache and cookies for sonarseed.com.

4. "Wrong Brand"

  • Cause: If an ambassador works with multiple brands on Sonar Seed, they might use a link for Brand A to try and log into Brand B's portal.
  • Solution: Each brand has a unique portal URL. Ensure they are using the correct link associated with your brand (found in your Portal Settings).
