Commission Structures & Rules

Sonar Seed allows you to reward ambassadors with commissions on the sales they generate. You can set global defaults or create highly specific rules based on your product collections.

Global Default Commissions

In Settings > Recruitment, you can define your baseline commission.

  • Default Commission Percentage: The % of the order value (pre-tax, pre-shipping) that the ambassador earns by default.
  • This rate applies to every ambassador unless overridden by a Campaign or Collection-specific rule.

Campaign-Specific Overrides

Each Seeding Campaign can have its own commission structure. This is useful for "New Product Launches" where you might want to offer a higher incentive.

  • You can set a Default Commission Type (Percentage or Fixed Amount) and Value for a specific campaign.

Collection-Based Rules

For advanced brands, you can create rules based on Shopify Collections. This allows you to:

  • Variable Margins: Offer 20% on accessories but only 5% on high-cost electronics.
  • Excluded Items: Set 0% commission on "Gift Cards" or "Sale" collections.

How Rules are Calculated

When an order is synced from Shopify, Sonar Seed evaluates the items in the cart:

  1. It checks for Collection-specific rules first.
  2. If an item doesn't match a collection rule, it falls back to the Campaign default.
  3. If no campaign exists for that code, it uses the Global default.
